Why I Chose
Qiao Charger

Even though my options are somewhat limited, I still consider myself a picky person when it comes to choosing whom to work for.

I don’t place much importance on the paycheck. I live a simple life and don’t have extravagant material needs. As long as the job can support my modest lifestyle, I’m willing to give it a try. Sure, I need money to pay off my debts, but I firmly believe that through hard work, I can gradually earn enough to clear them.

What truly matters to me are the company’s values and the personalities of the people I work with. I’m looking for a job that allows me to do meaningful work, provides for my basic needs, and connects me with great, genuine people.

I have no interest in joining a toxic environment or compromising my conscience just to make a living.

Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil men.

The Industry

Al Gore: An Inconvenient Truth Film Poster

During my long job-hunting period, I actually received quite a few invitations from the e-cigarette (vape) industry. Without any hesitation, I declined them. Since I don’t smoke and firmly believe that cigarettes are harmful to health — both for those who smoke and for those forced to inhale the secondhand smoke — I couldn’t see myself working in that field. (Yes, I do hate it when people smoke while walking in public.)

How could I sell something I don’t even believe in? And worse, something I believe is harmful? Is there any difference between selling a vape to someone and selling a gun to a person planning to harm innocent people in a schoolyard?

No! Absolutely not!

The new energy industry, however, is a completely different story.

I still remember clearly the day I interviewed with my former boss in the internet education industry after leaving the media sector. Al Gore had just won the Nobel Peace Prize, and we discussed climate change, global warming, and environmental issues. We both cared deeply about the planet.

I believe that shifting vehicles from gasoline to electric power is a key step toward building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable world. And I want to be part of that.

I want to contribute to something that matters — not just for my own benefit, but for humanity and the earth.

02

The Reliable Values

Believe it or not, I didn’t take the interview request too seriously at first. One reason was that I was quite busy during those days, and another reason was that I had already attended many interviews that seemed more about helping HR meet their KPIs or gathering competitor information. So, I didn’t put much effort into preparing for this one, as I didn’t want to waste too much time.

When I arrived at the factory and was waiting for the interview, I started to feel a bit bored, so I began browsing the company culture wall. I was surprised to find that "integrity and reliability" were core values of the company. They expressed that they wanted to be a reliable supplier to customers in a world where deception and impulsiveness are all too common.

Reliability was the foundation upon which the company was created. Without this core value, they said, there would be no reason for the company to exist—just another EV charger manufacturer.

That really struck me, as it aligns perfectly with my own personal values.

At that point, I started taking the situation more seriously and became eager to seize this opportunity.

I’m glad to say that I got the job.

And as I’ve learned more about the company, I truly believe I ended up in the right place. It may not be as glamorous as the internet companies I’ve worked for in the past, but it’s a company with good people and good products—a company where I can safely deliver quality to customers without worrying about cutting corners.

Integrity and reliability are not just on their wall.

03

The Reliable People

Since my options have been limited, I’ve kept my profile low and don’t ask much about the paycheck. I’m only looking for something a bit higher than the middle-to-lower range in the industry.

Even so, I’ve received many "counter-quotes," like: “Since you don’t have much experience in international sales, we can’t pay you that much. We can only offer…”

It’s ridiculous, even for those in domestic sales roles.

When they asked about my salary expectations, I told them what I earned at my last job and mentioned that I’d be fine with something a little higher.

They offered me an amount I couldn’t refuse—more than I expected. They knew my bottom line, but instead of using it against me or squeezing me like others have, they treated me fairly.

I’m happy with that. And that’s one of the reasons I find them reliable. There’s a lot more I could share about this, but I’ll leave it for another time.

The Reliable Products

Let’s be honest—Qiao Charger is not a fashionable company when it comes to marketing, not even close.

They remind me a bit of the hardworking farmers from the red states in the U.S. They might not know the latest trends in marketing or how to promote their products effectively. Their website is still under construction, and social media is yet to be set up. They don’t focus much on flashy presentations or stylish photos—things that might be common in other industries.

However, this "farmer" mentality is exactly what drew me to the company. On the flip side, they’re also very "geeky" in the best way. They invest a lot of time and effort in research and product development, thoroughly analyzing the market, disassembling competitors' products, and running experiments. Every detail matters, from the raw materials (like cables) to the final product design. They ensure that what they create is not only innovative but also incredibly reliable.

With decades of experience in mold and digital product design, they’ve made impressive strides in the EV charger industry. Some of our products even rival the best international players. But the one thing we need to improve is our marketing. Despite offering excellent products, they often don’t reach as many people as they should—something I’m working to change.

I believe in Qiao Charger because they align with my own values of integrity and reliability. I’m proud to work for a company that takes these values seriously. Our chargers are built to the highest standards of performance, and I’m confident that we can provide reliable, effective solutions for your EV charging needs.

I’d be honored to help you discover the difference Qiao Charger can make for you.
